I wasnt sure were to post this topic but I would like to know if roadworthy tests are stringent on rim sizes.
I have a DC2R with 17inch rims on, they do not come out of the guards and sit inside nicely.
Only when you turn the wheels 100% to the right the left rim scrapes a bit on the inside.
My question is would they (VicRoads) tell me to put smaller or stock rims on? or i wouldnt have any problems?

"The width of any replacement rim must not be:
more than 25mm greater than the widest wheel specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series"
So im unroadworthy then if the stock rims are 15inch and i currently have 17x7 Rims im assuming thats more than 25mm.
Correct?

They are talking about the width of the rim, not diameter.
What is the width of the standard rim?

6-6.5 inch
don't quote me on that and don't flame if i'm wrong! :o
i think it's not more than 1 inch wide......
if ur standard rims are 15 x 6, no matter how big ur after market rims are, say 17 inch, 18 inch; the maximum width of da rims should not more than 7. if u have 7.5 then it's not road worthy.

this site lists most factory rims http://www.wheelweights.net/
listing the 5 stud Type R as 15 x 6
so you could goto a 16 x 7 or 17 x 7 but no more than 7in wide rims...

it states:
"In any event, rim width shall not exceed 177.8 mm (7") unless specified by the manufacturer as standard equipment for the vehicle in question. No increase in rim width is permitted for vehicles fitted with original equipment rims in excess of 177.8 mm (7") width."
so yeah - 7in is maximum in WA - UNLESS the car cam with wider than 7in rims from factory!
pretty harsh!
just becareful because all states have slightly different rules and regs regarding roadworthyness...
