hey guys,
i've got a couple problems with idle and choke im trying to sort out on a 88 Civic with D15B4 Dual Carb motor... i've looked for a pdf'd FSM but keep finding the single carb or EFi models.
Can anyone point me in the right direction towards the correct PDF?
thanks in advance
Mike

unplug the IAVC and see if it idles better,
note this will put a code in the ECU so you will have to reset it after testing

this car doesn't have an ECU - and I want to have the diagrams so i can locate components - atm im stabbing in the dark where stuff is...
it hangs itself on idle when you start it - revs up to 3000 rpm, and sits there. After a while it drops down but once you turn it off and back on again it revs up again - even tho its hot already. I suspect the IACV is water operated since it an older car but I want to know exactly where stuff is so i can trace the systems etc.

The dual carbs do actually have ECUs. As ECU-MAN try unplugging the IAVC although i usally leave them connected but just block the up. If that fails you will most likely have to replace the choke assy which honda call a thermo wax valve opener. It's on the LH carby.

There was a manual at http://ww1.honda.co.uk/cars/owner/workshop.html
But its for the concerto, it has the dual carb setup in it.
