Hey guys, I been running aroung on Toyo T1R a bit and have a set of Advan Neova too for track days. The wear rate on the street aint exactly flash!

Anyway I got a third set of 16" wheels for my AP1 and want to go a bit wider than the usual 205 55 16 front ond 225 50 16 rear for just my day to day rubber between track duties. I was thinking a 225 50 16 front, and 245 45 16 rear. My car is slightly lowered all round on Eibach springs and thats about it. I am happy to pay a bit for a good Japanese tyre, no Nangang/Wanli concrete hoops please!!! What is the widest the 6.5" front and 7.5" rear rims can have without any problems? I read alot the old S02 was a very wide 225 equivalent to an average 245 hence I thought of a 245 rear 225 front combo.

Thanks guys.

Why don't you stick to 205/55 R16 and 225/50 R16 but get good tyres like RE001? The price of 245/45 might negate any savings you gain and you might end up with less than best tyres due to budget.

RE001 wear is good? My R spec tyres lasted 9000km! I see your point. How long do the RE001 last on the street?

James.

Depends how you drive it. I've had mine on for 1.5 years, been through 3 trackdays and they still have a good amount of tread left. It has probably done about 19000km

Sounds pretty good. Thanks for the info.

The RE-001 on the rear of my car are nearly rooted after about 9000kms!

But, they are still a great tyre. The latest copy of Motor mag tyre test will also prove this.
