i wanna remove my ultra long radio antenna from my dc2.
did anyone here d.i.y by plucking it out then covering the hole with silicon or brought it to mechanic to remove it properly plus the motor?
thought of replacing it with an electric antenna that would be inside the car.
can someone gimme a run down of the costs of doing these?
mainly getting the electric antenna + installation.
thks.

you can buy a power block antenna from metra for 20 dollars or pick up an s2000 antenna. but if you look on the top of the antenna you should see 4 indentions on the outside. when you see that get a pair of channel locks and un screw it counter clockwise.

if you want to pull it out go into your boot take off your boot linning u will see on the rear left hand side where you antenna motor is and where the antanna goes and the bracket its connected to , if i can remeber off memoray it was a 10 mm bolt you need to un do so slide it out, if you just to prize it out u might end up scratching your car and stuffing it all together , and if u rip it out it will be uselesss, im not to sure if u should silcone it up it still might leak n it will look like crap, best to get it shaved and re painted

is there a way to actually cut off a wire to prevent the motor from activating?
if there is, which wire is it?
i guess i'm too lazy to replace it with another one. i just don't want it go up 100km into the sky!
