that doesn't sound normal..rev does bounce
and no car doesnt stall at all..
when it starts its normal but when its hot it bounce up and down between 1.5k and 2krpm
no mods
do carbys have a IAC?
sounds like a faulty or dirty IAC.. give it a clean with TB cleaner if it has one.

i think ED's have a cold idle adjuster and warm idle adjuster. it used to happen to me.
its one of the screws that adjusts the warm idle(wen ur engine is warm)
so next time just turn one of the screws anticlockwise and if it doesnt lower the idle its the wrong screw
