Hi guys,,
before u ask,, i've done the search but found nothing..
i've got 93' EG civic hatch and it's carby engine.. i'm gonig to get the engine conversion done but !! i'm not looking to do B-series or any type of V-Tect engine conversion,, just after an idea on EFI engine from the EK series..
so, what do i need for the whole conversion?? do i need new fuel tank ? fuel pump, or run new fuel lines??
this conversion only aim for everyday driving, fuel comsumption, and not after any performance wise or house power !!
Cheers

does the EG need the engine swap?
IMO it may be better just to leave it carby.
umm but to answer the question i believe you need:
Tank
Lines (would be advised though i believe you can re-use old ones)
Fuel Pump
Time
and the stuff for the swap

STUFF NEEDED
1x91-95 breeze
1xEG6 half cut (that should have most of the parts u need)
1xEFI fuel rails (off any EFI EG)
1xEFI fuel tank (off any EFI EG)

You need.
-Tank and fuel pump (i installed a new pump).
-I used the carby fuel lines.
-Main wiring harness is different. And you will need to run two wires from the fuel pump. One to earth and one to your main relay.
-You will need a new main harness as some of the wirings different.
-Good luck removing the filler neck hoses without having to cut them. So you may need those also.
So the work involved would be:
-swapping the tank (easy to do this, hardest part is removing the filler neck hoses).
-good time for a new fuel pump with the tank out of the car.
-swapping the main harness (need dash out).
-wiring the fuel pump (easy, one to earth one to main relay).
-if you swap lines you will need to remove the whole front crossmember.
Cost:
Depends how much someone is willing to sell the gear to you for so its hard to put a figure on...
Off memory i think all up it cost around $500 - $1000 to obtain all the parts.

dude why does he need an eg6 halfcut?
he doesnt want a vtec conversion, just an EFI D series conversion
but try to find a halcut, or awrecked one, coz itll have everything you need
wiring, ecu, fuel tank with pump

alot of mechanics should be able to
it will cost alot, because there is alot of work involved.
and its time consuming
theyll fcuk up up on labour
thats why its prob best to find a fairly low km carby engine and drop it in

trism is right, better off with another engine as the cost will be lower.
That is unless you are willing to spend a bit of money and get a newer EFi engine and do the EFi swap at the same time.
You will have less headaches selling the car and getting a car that is already efi.
But your engine should be ok if its been serviced regularly.
I know of a few carby EG's that have over 300.000 kms and still running good.

man this is the easiest conversion going it is also the most cheapest ones to do
best to take to mechanic to do for u because if people on oz honda can do it in a weekend
surely a mechanic can do it in a day for you
parts wise there is a shit load of d series motors floating around
u will have no trouble finding damaged fuel lines finding undamaged ones will be another story
cost to do conversion 1k
cost of labour 1k
cost of headaches price less
have fun doing the conversion
