This is my first post and im new to this site so i hope ther arnt other threads similar to this but this is specific to my car so yer...what i really want is some advice on what i can do to get my civic that bit faster...currently it runs well low kms and has a few bolt on mods such as pod filter, cat back exhaust, heavy duty cluth, lightened flywheel, racelogic coilovers and it also has a apexi vafc that hasnt been tuned...im not really wanting to turbo the car so basically i think maybe getting bigger cams and then tuning the vafc would give me a fairly decent power gain...so can anyone help with whether this is a good idea and if so what kind of cams would be good for moderate gains and relatively affordable, any help is appreciated

skunk 2 makes pretty good cams at decent price, americans love it.

i would tune the VAFC aswell after cams, its limited tuning compared to what others can do (Hondata etc) but better than nothing.

before you do cams and so forth... i recommend doing the headers ay.

get the vafc tuned once you do the headers, then see how you like it.

if you want more, do the cams.
before you do cams, its best to do the essentials, intake header and exhaust, and since u got exhaust, headers is what is left. maybe also get a better intake.

vafc isnt that great with cams, to get everything performing to its best, look at an emanage if your on a little bit more of a budget, and if you have the money, go hondata.

Go for bigger displacement, i.e 1.8 or 2.0

If your really tight on a budget, get some headwork done, but even that isnt a cheap exercise

not looking for any massive gains just like 10-20hp if possible just so i can finish off some of the cars im dragging and not quite finishing...i dont really have a set budget but i can probably throw about $1000-2000 at the car for some gains which im sure is enough for some sort of noticeable gains if i was to buy header or cams shafts i can pick them up off the net for less then $800 each anyway everything that perth workshops get in seems to be at enormously inflated prices so id shop around just need advise on what to buy and how it will fit together in basic terms thanks so far

dont do cams & tune before headers & cat!

otherwise you'll have to get it retuned once you do get headers & cat.

ok 1k to 2k. like every1 has said. headers and cat.. plus skunk2 cams then get it tuned.. you will see a good increase.. but if u can maybe grab 3-4k go down to toda they can build your engine possibly making 130kw atw or even higher.

why bother on a b16a. You can make 130kw on a b18c7 with bolt-ons. You would really needto work the b16a internally to get that power
