this may be a stupid question.. i have stock 14" tyres if i was to get bigger tyres/wheels say 16" or even 15" would this make my car sit higher coz it scrapes heaps.. even with 3 people in my car the front wheels scrape against the guards when turning

btw i have a da9 integra
thanks

wait so ur scraping as it is on 14" steelies?

getting bigger rims can make it higher but this would sorta be illegal as it would put off your speedo... coz it would need to be a bigger radius..

scraping on stockies might be due to suspension sagging.. not 100% sure though gotta be a little more clearer in what u are going through...

i dont know how to b clearer haha.. so my car is lowered on kmac springs.. and i guess you could say it is too low, scrapes over speed humps (exhaust) , driveways etc.. when i have a full car with more weight in it the car goes even lower so when im turning the top of the tyres scrape against the guard(or edge of car whatever its called)

sounds like it is lowered way too low.....

is the car dumped? have any problems with just u or with just 1 passenger?

probably have more problems if you change to wider rims with different offset as it sits more out than steelies and would mos likely cause you to scrub more in the same situation...

uhm suspension wise it happens same thing with my civic gets alot lower with a full car but mine doesnt scrub on the front ... not sure why your teg wud do that unless its dumped on its ass as it is you know

if ya like the ride height and prob carry people alot save up and get some stiffer suspension.. may help a bit i guess... but if you dont really carry a full car often then prob just put up with it aye... lol good luck mate

if ur having problems with 14inch wheels, bigger rims will not fix the problem. as 4p1ay suggested get stiffer sussy or raise the height

if its just your tyres scraping against the guard, if your havent already gett them rolled.
egtign a bigger rim size would raise it a little but probably barely aye. but r yoou may get more rubbing.
i agree with simonnowies and 4p1ay, get a stiffer sussy or raise it.
but if the occasion when u have more then 1 person is rare then just put up with it if u like the look and try and avoid having too much people in the car :P thats what i do.

Lets get this right and give you a fairly straight answer before we make reccomendations.
1. you have stock 14inch tyres. I am unfamiliar with what da9 tegs have in regards to tyre profile, therefore its hard for me to give u your answer without dimensions.
Furthermore, it is hard for me to give u an answer as to whether it will sit higher and be "legal" and also not affect your speedo because, once again I do not know the dimensions of the wheels/tyre combination you want to fit onto your car.

now, your car is obviously lowered, could of told you that without the pic.

basically, you need to calculate how high your wheel/tyre combination is and then see how big your new wheels/tyres will be. I went from 15s to 18s and it is still legal as the rolling diameter is less than 2inches. this is a key word, ROLLING DIAMETER.

to work out your rolling diameter, you need to calculate your wheel size (15inches) plus the height of your tyre, this is achieved by dividing the width by the profile e.g. if it was a 215/35/18 tyre, the profile height would be 215 divided by 35. you then add this number to the 15inches (careful as they r different units) and you have your rolling diameter.

you then need to work out if your new wheel/tyre combo will have a bigger or smaller rolling diamter. if it is bigger than yes it will/should raise your car.

the basic theory, is that when your wheels get bigger, your tyre profile gets smaller, and as I am aware, in nsw the rolling diameter (dont quote me on this) needs to be within 2inches from stock. Also, any more than 2inches can affect your speedo, however this can always be corrected.

so- go work out your rolling diameter of your stock and new wheels/tyres, and then you will have your answer. keep in mind a bigger tyre/wheel does not raise your car that much unless it is a massive difference. e.g. from 14inch to 15inch won't exactly raise your car up so you will never scrub again.

good luck dude,
