engine mounts are a common fault on the ep3 aswell as a steering rack issue which i have had. Nothing else so far

IMO, just don't crash the car, the body parts would be a problem
all honda's should be the same, they are very reliable, shouldn't worried too much mechanically ,
especially with type R
my dad have driven honda since i was born from 78" model untill i grew up, i have owned 90 94 95 08 model,, i have never had major problems, as long as you look after it, regular service, tune up etc
if we say we've got problems with rubber, bushes, etc,
that's called "wear and tears", it's normal

I read about the ep3's mounts stuffing up.
However, I'm curious to know if there any aftermarket mounts that are more durable and yet will resonate excessive vibrations to the chassis?

yeap i heard mugen engine mounts would do the job. I read they are a bit more stiffer then the stock but u wont get vibrations like the hardcore mounts

ahhh cool. How much do mugen mounts cost and are they hard to source?
ps. Although I don't own an ep3 but will be thinking of getting one some time in future.

hmmm probably best try the guy from JDM Concept which is one of the traders on ozhonda. He can get mugen parts in so probably enquire through him

JDMyard can also get Mugen mounts, when I had to replace mine last week i asked Yonas and he said it was $595 for the Mugen mounts and Spoon is abit more. Mugen and Spoon is a good option if you want mounts that are abit stronger than OEM mounts and doesnt give as much vibration as Hasport & Avid mounts. It feels alot more like OEM.

quick question, was reading on the rsx forums, they reckon mugen mounts don't make a rear engine mount? is this right? cause im sure if they are replacement oem mounts they should make rear mounts right?

hey denrie have u put a order on the mugen mounts?

I'm not sure if the Mugen mounts have the rear mount. And I haven't put an order I just got replacement OEM mounts because one just broke. It's to expensive! lol but i'll replace all soon when I get the money. lol

mine also is broken, thinking on avid or mugens.... both around same price
also how much did u get quoted for oem mounts cause i was quoted something like 300 per mount, which is ridiculous

My OEM mount was worth $200 and it was only the left one. I got it replaced already because i'm still under warrenty I think. But sometime next year I will replace all mounts and start doing other mods to the car :p
If you get the Avid or Hasport mounts you will be getting really hard vibrations. But its really up to you.

Just out of interest, how does the car feel when an engine mount goes? Just lots of vibration?

Yeah you feel vibration because your engine is moving alot & isn't stable.
