ok,
well just wondering what that rectangular computer-thing do
its an aftermarket item and people tend to put it ontop of the wheel/right infront of cluster, or sometimes left hand side of foot area of the driver
tends to show numbers and stuff
exactally what do they do and what are they useful for?

thanks in adv

I think you are referring to VAFC right? Best if you post some pics. It can be used to display and monitor things such as air flow and throttle etc and can be used to map fuel mixtures i think and change vtec engagement point (best left to tune @ the pros). Hope that helps.

I'm sure it's VAFC,SAFC,NEO,RSM, Power FC etc.... it can be pivot speed meter as well :)

Different device serves different purposes. For instance, Vtec Air Flow Controller (VAFC) is used to control your vtec changing point and air fuel control to maximize your car performance. However, they are just piggybacks for your stock ECU. Hence, there are heaps of limitations.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys. :)

ok, taht sumed it up cymax thanks.
i would assume then say a hondata or aftermarket ecu would be significantly 'better' than these little things?

lol. That's for sure mate! Hondata ftw! They would be significantly tunable.

If you are only considering I/H/E then those lil piggybacks would be good enough. Except for Power FC.

If you are gonna touch the engine, then I reckon you should go hondata and other aftermarket ECUs.

I hope those helped you.

Cheers!
