I don't think that you will have any major problems with a Honda Integra Type R. How many km's has it done? Honda's are very reliable cars, and you're making a good choice getting a Type-R :D
Just get it checkoud out by NRMA-like services. I can recommend Sydney Vehicle Check. They are like NRMA and come to you. But they charge less than NRMA for the same job. Their phone number is: 91530888.
Or you can take it to Hanny's Performance in Smithfield.
If you're not from Sydney, sorry, I didn't check :P

if its an australia delivered model, these cars are still less then 5 years old so i can't imagine any problems that you may encounter. i guess if its done over 100,000kms, check to see if the 1st major service has been undertaken...besides that, u should be sweet!

Its funny. I so often see these kinds of threads and at the end of the day, notice that on most post 1990 Honda's there aren't any major problems with the car.

Go the Honda!

Honda Powa!

When buying a Type R I reckon the most important thing is oil consumption, but this is hard to judge as it will be hard to get an exact and honest answer from the owner. Some Type Rs can use a litre up a month while others (like mine :D) hardly burn oil at all.

You have made the right choice in buying an R

Just do the usual second hand checks and make sure you get a compression test done :)

the DC2R was released in October 1999 and was discontinued in July 2001. Not a very long life span at all...but it certainly made its mark!

Have you considered buying a VTI-R, and spending the rest of the money on that?
