I've noticed that when i'm say at the lights and i've got my foot on the brake......sometimes it goes kinda soft and goes down towards the floor a lot more than it should (even harder than when breaking hard).

But if I take my foot of the break soon after and put my foot on it again.....its back to normal.

ANy ideas?

Apart from that I don't get brake fade or anything when pulling up after a spirited run.

Was there any fluid loss?

no fluid loss Win as its fluid bypassing the piston in the master cylinder. 9 time out of 10 you can put a master cylinder kit through it ( i think there only $70 or so ) and bleed your master cylinder and then brakes, all good, only when the bore is badly scorred you replace the entire master cylinder .hot weather triggers it more.

Yes, definately master cylinder. You need a new one.

its cheaper to repair your master cylinder with an overhaul kit than replacing it, just need to check the bore.

Does the repair kit fix the bore or the piston (which is it that would have worn?)

EG4 I think your talking about the clutch master cylinder. Win its the pistons seals that get thrashed.
