My 1998 Prelude Vti-R is running flat once in the VTEC zone.. I have added new cold air-intake about 2500k's ago but this is just happening now. I tried it with the stock airbox but the same problem. Just flat acceleration once you put the pedal to the metal.. i also removed the battery to try reseting the ECU but symptom still happening! Oil level is on level also..
And I've got this massive exhaust rattle coming from the centre muffler or the cat.. Could this be problem?

sounds your catalytic convertor has collapsed.

Get it looked at/replaced asap

thats what happened to mine when the cat shat itself.
the inside of the cat collapsed and were trying to force themselves out the exhaust.

DO you have an after market header? If so take it off and check the flexpipe.

definatly dounds like a collapsed cat..................

take it off and for cheap option bash it out put back in and see if this fixes problem..then u can decide to get a stock replacement, aftermarket free flowing one, or leave the bashed one in

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter?

I mean prob is a collapsed cat but it wont hurt to check the fuel filter to see if its blocked?
