Got this weird noise that started yesterday ...Drove up the road and when i backed off to brake for the roundabout a slight clunk and now when ever i back off and let the car roll down the road with no throttle it makes a slight constant clunking noise ... But under acceleration it drives fine ...

It could either be worn or torn Motor mounts or transmission mounts or the the Cv joints are failing and need replacing...

please provide us with more info of the noise and where its coming from...

sound is from drivers side and is like a slight knocking clunking but only when i back off the throttle ... i have checked the mounts and they seem ok ...

i recommend going to a suspension place.
most of them offer free checks.
wont cost ya anything and if it has something to do with the suspension, which it sounds like it does, they will definitely tell you.

i had the same thing, its the inspection plate on the gearbox it may have a dent on it, proply a rock hit it, just unscrew it nd hammer the dent out.

Sorry for long reply but as i didn't get time to look at this and two days after i went for a holiday to QLD ...
So as i only came back last week i finally got around to taking it to my mechanic yesterday and it turned out to be the wheel bearings ... Expensive little ****ers they are too ,,, are well all fixed and my motorised shopping trolley is back on the road :thumbsup: ...
