I traded my FD1 today, so i thought it might be interesting to give my thoughts after 2 1/2 years of ownership. In just over 61,000km the only problem i had was the typical front window jamming on 1 occasion, apart from that it was totally reliable and trouble free.

In the time i had the car i averaged 6.78 L/100km which is better than advertised, best recorded was 5.8 & worst was 7.6.

The trade offered was above expectations, new price was 22,990 traded for 16,200, a net loss of $6,800, who wouldn't be happy with that.

Wow that is an awesome trade in price too! I'd be happy with $16k!

denot, Civic sport and base model euro are similar price i think. My personal opinion is that leather interior is not suitable to central QLD climate.....get a scorched butt any time you leave the car in the sun. I cant see the point of a sunroof with climate control a/c.
But in saying that I know it comes down to individual tastes.
On a final note i have never been happy since a female decided to reverse into me.....cars with auto transmissions are not designed to be pushed backwards while in park. I also believe the deal I made was unbelievable.
Time to start a new spreadsheet on fuel consumption.....lol

JaCe, considering the damage caused ( almost 10k) and possible trans problem down the track, i feel i had no choice. I have been wanting to make the change since June, but had trouble convincing the mrs to update.

yeah buddah... but I have to agree with you... I've just seen a CU2 (base model) from close range last sunday and I have to agree that I will trade my Sports with it... The only thing that FD2 is better (for me) than the CU2 is the dash board... I just love the split design... but for everything else, I go with CU2... but like I sed... dont think I'll get 25k or more from trading in my Fd2 :( so still cant afford...

Edit: What I mean is I need to at least sell myFD2 for 25k to be able to buy new CU2 :p
