EuroR naming question

This is a bit random, but...

How did the K20A CL7 end up with the name "Accord EuroR" if the standard JDM CL9 Accord is just the "Honda Accord" without the "euro" tag?

Why not "Accord Type R" for the tuned CL7?

I've searched, but couldn't seem to find anything on this. Stumped.

I've read somewhere, or some youtube video that it was called Euro-R because it's not a true traditional Type-R, the tuning done to the Euro-R is not suffcient to be a Type-R or something like that that's why they gave it the name Euro-R instead of Type-R. Let me see if I can find the source.

The CL9 isn't just the Honda Accord, it's the Accord Euro. The Euro was designed as a more European design and spec version of the Accord, less American. There was another car called the EuroR before the CL7 I think, called the CL1.

A lot of the time on Best Motoring they refer to other Type Rs as Integra R or Civic R, so I don't think it's strange that they'd officially call it the EuroR instead of Euro Type R.
