i'm running on 16s 205/45/16. i'm thinking of getting 15" rims and 195/50/15 tyres.. will the gap between the tyre and fender reduced with 15" wheels and tyres?
thanks.

The 195/50 15 tyre is smaller diameter than the current 205/45 16 tyre so the gap between the tyre and the fender will increase.

yes as the wheels are smaller and doesn't fill the guard as much. your car will also become lower.

here you go Aris you lazy man.
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
205/45-16 3.6in 11.6in 23.3in 73.1in 867 0.0%
195/50-15 3.8in 11.3in 22.7in 71.2in 889 -2.5%
This doesnt take into consideration sidewall flex , with higher profile tyres. Your car will be lower on 15's. Atleast your speedo will be reading almost accurate.

haha lol thanks ben
now that explains why my car sits 1.8" higher with the ek9 shocks than it's supposed to be.. since ek9 has 15" tyres.
cheers.

to be fair - the EK9 comes with 195/55/15. That means compared to your 16's -
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/km Difference
205/45-16 92mm 295mm 591mm 1856mm 539 0.0%
195/55-15 107mm 298mm 596mm 1871mm 535 0.8%
This shows the overall difference is tiny. But , take into consideration sidewall flex and you should be a tiny bit lower on the 15's with OEM size.

thanks. oh i see.. i measured the distance between ground and fender it's 63cm. while the ek9 with oem wheels is 59cm. yea just a tiny 4cm difference.
