hey guys, just got some quote for a basic sports muffler for a nicer sound and ive been told of 2 ways to do this by 2 shops. First shop says they will weld on the new muffler, second shop says and they will replace the muffler from further up and bolt it on.
The first shop is a fair bit cheaper also, so does it matter?

its the muffler quality i'd be looking into not the pipe length they replace.

im just asking whether its fine to weld the muffler straight on as opposed to bolting it on.

Will probably just make it a bit harder if you wanted to swap/remove it in the future.

one shop is just replacing the stock muffler with the aftermarket..the other shop is putting in an axle back or catback.
as mentioned depending on what muffler will determine the sound, but a catback will be louder than just replacing the muffler alone. what motor so you have?
between the two options, there will be none or little performance difference while driving, only a dyno reading may differ.

I'd bolt it up from the axle flange at least, much easier to swap over to the old one (two bolts) if you get a defect or EPA letter.

not if u use the original honda donut flange
u would be stupid to get it welded
what about when u need to take off ?
u will have to take the whole thing off and will look nasty
