Guys....

If you were in the market for an S2000 and there were 2 to choose from..

1- 99 S2k with approx 40K on the clock Silver with black interior for 31K

or

2- 02 S2K with about 45K on the clock silver with red interior for 37K

which would u choose ? considering both r within budget and both r in good condition with full service history. I'm after some thought about which is beter value for money and which will retain its vaule more in the long turn.I know these cars r very diffcult to sell as well so which would be easier to get rid of in 2 or 3 years time. is the AP2 worth the extra 6 grand ? obviously I'd rather spend as little as I can but at the end of the day I'm after best value for money.

Thanks

None of the above is AP2. Ap2 update is '04+

But go with the '02. Has glass rear window and other various little updates. I think it's worth the extra 6grand and will retain better value...

should check the sticky for the differences in year models..

If you want the car long term and you like to mod, you will most definetly change the following;

Glass Convertible top conversion = $1000 + Fitting = $500-1000
02 Clutch to eliminate clutch buzz = circa $1800 fitted

They are the main changes if thats worth 6k for you then yeah do it. I would go for the better conditioned car, regardless of the age.

All australian s2000s are AP1 because none of them have the F22C.

I beg to differ. Last time I checked out an Australian 2005 model S2000, the VIN/Chassis was AP2.

In regards to the OP post, I would go opt for the 2002 model if it was in good condition and if your pocket was another 6k deeper :)
It is a newer car in the end and was updated with minor 'appreciative' changes in 02, which again will be better for resale value.

Its an option most owners didn't want.

Correct. NO Au cars came standard with the F22C.
