my cousin in 2005 bought a nice car, and there was this button near the gear stick, we could never figure out what it was. one night on the highway he flicked it by accident, it was those lights underneath the car, they were blue.

Press the button, Joystick and thrust controller comes out of the hidden compartments then a big button labelled afterburner appears on the centre console...
Afterburner > NAWZ lol

It may be OEM and factory, but i doubt it's a factory location. Seems not very hidden in plain sight.

it is factory location. Exact location in the instruction diagram :)
its for your emergency injector seat lol
Haha Lan dont you mean ejector?
After reading this thread i am convinced it is either nos, ejector seat button, manual change button or joystick overide control.

Thanks for all your weird and crazy suggestion guys. Had a giggle reading through them lol.
I checked all my papers and manuals and discovered that I do have an OEM alarm system installed and not just a remote key less entry system.
That button is indeed OEM/Factory :p
It is used to activate the Valet mode of the alarm and also used for other random alarm diagnostics such as reactivating the last set of alarm codes to go off, etc.
Thanks again for all your help guys :)
no ur manuals wrong, its VTEC override.... for people new to VTEC
Valet system... pfft
That really doesn't look factory at all. Are you sure it's not a dealer option? Can you give me a part number for the alarm? I can look it up in my catalog to confirm it is factory.
Btw, what is that vent above the switch for?

My EK1 2000 Gli also has this button
Dont know what it does but my car does have a factory alarm.
A mate with the same car also has the same button in the same spot as the pic on first page.
