Dear all,
The driver's side window stutters (almost struggles) when being wound down. When using the auto wind up, it will wind smoothly to the top, and subsequently wind down about 1/4 of the way.
Was wondering if anyone could rectify or point me in the right direction? Much appreciated.
Silicon spray on the window rails.

its gripping up on the rubber 'railing' (if u like) around the frame of ur window, all the vibration is wat makes it get stuck and come back down, happened to alot of us. like chi said, silicone spray will fix it ;)

I've siliconed the rails and this seems to have stopped the shuttering, thanks guys.
However, when using the Auto up, it will raise the window to the top, and subsequently go down again half way. Should i just reset the ECU and re-program the Auto windows?
EDIT: resolved with ECU reset

Good news, and keep in mind, when you reset the ECU, at times the window will not auto-up immediately. It may take a few kms before the auto function works correctly.

Thanks for the tip Mitsubishi. Actually, to "re-program" the auto function, you just have to hold "Down" for an additional 5 seconds after the window reaches the bottom, and hold "Up" for another 5 seconds after it reaches the top.

Window issue was not resolved by ECU reset. I think i've narrowed it down to the aftermarket alarm system. Thanks guys

Do you have a window close module fitted with the aftermarket alarm? have you re-programed the window, down n hold for 5, up n hold for 5 (after window reaches limit), That window runner/rail that everyone is talking about is actually called a Bailey channel, the best way to fix ur slow or stuck windows is not actually silicone spray as that does leave a residue on the window itself and wont last very long, the best thing to use is graphite powder from an auto store, wind/put the window all the way down, inject/squirt some of the powder all up and down the bailey channel (both sides) and then run the window 3-4 times full way.
Thanks boys

Check that both the in car and outside window seals are intact since they actually hold the window from vibrating, the other thing to check which will more than likely be your problem, Remove your door trim and look for the 10mm bolts that hold the window regulator/mechanism in place to the door. tighten them up and look for any loose objects in the door, maybe even a speaker incorrectly mounted and see how you go.
Thanks
