just to let you know I followed that exact guide and i manged to chnage my head unit. (and i live in australia and have an australian delivered EJ8).

i used the same guide on installdr to install a headunit into my ek, once you take the panels off its pretty easy to figure out what needs to be unscrewed unpluged etc.
