Speak to JDMYard or DrHonda (amongst others).

Both are vendors on this site and can steer you right.

Nick.

PS. "I have a friend ..." is what usually begins a very unflattering sentence.

What's up with that? he, he.
I can only suppose you forgot where you put the D16y4...

Money and lots of it, a budget pre japan dollar crisis of $22k would see it in properly with all new bits aside of a 2nd hand engine and gear box, sounds like alot of cash because it is...

22k???
no way in hell!!

main things you need:
Motor (im assuming it came with everything)
- gearbox
- wiring loom
- shifter cables
- ecu
- fuel rail and injectors

wat ull need:
mount kit
radiator
shifter kit
ecu (krpo)
wiring harness
drive shafts
exhaust
brakes!
intake
fuel press reg
and alot of time and patience..

thats all off the top of my head
id budget 15k with install - ofcourse thats if you shop around and buy smart

btw honbits sell full swap for 5.5k - jus bargin with em

With the US dollar now it'll cost a fair bit.

lol, indeed, it will cost a hell of alot of money $22k was my generous estimate if you were able to bargain down the engine halfcut...

I have seen it done for alot less with less than average results...

I havent even factored in the cost of install and supply of a 5 stud conversion (which is the sort of stopping power you'd be inclined to install for safety) which for the parts alone 2nd hand are $1400

install from $2k if all goes well

when the dollar was good it was $7500 for a halfcut of a Teg for an excellent AUS example

and around $8700 for the parts to make it all fit in there

then driveshafts which can vary in price
