My mod today was to copy the CL9 euro sport door strips and since ive got mugen visors so im only doing the 1/4 left of the chrome strip.

Tools u need :
1. Scissors
2. Black tape " CLING ADHESIVE DUCT TAPE" is the brand
3. Old name card
4. Razor blade

lets get going pull out ur tape and roughly and carefully tape it on the chrome door strips .Tips dont stretch it too much .

then use the card to gently remove those air bubbles out. Tips grab the edge of the tape and gently stretch it a bit and scrape those air bubbles yay.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/IMG_1820.jpg

you should get this when done.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/IMG_1821.jpg

after you have satisfactory getting those air bubble out and happy with it using the scissors carefully cut abit of the section below. And if the tape stuck on the rubber thats ok dont panic

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1823.jpg

and we are now going to use a fold method to do this you must again carefully and gently prise out an inch out of the tape and we gonna trim a bit of the tape out and carefully that u dont torn and damage ur rubber on the doors :)

gently pull a bit of the rubber out

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1824.jpg

use your card to fold it down in there neatly as you go . Tips use ur card scrape it from the mid of the tape so you dont get any more air bubbles.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1825.jpg

then you should get this :)

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1826.jpg

and use your card again to scrape those air bubble downwards now and you will see that there's a mark line to guide you when???

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1827.jpg

ok once it is done now ull have a sticking tape on ur door strip now carefully prise out an inch of the tape that sticking and again using your card to scrape down the leftover air bubbles downward.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1829.jpg

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1828.jpg

ok now we carefully fold the bit that on the bottom like this

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1830.jpg

using ur razor carefully follow the line ( there will be 2 lines ) thats marked by the tape the last line is the one u need cut and cut it carefully down to the bottom.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1832.jpg

and after cutting carefully prise the tape out do it slowly.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1833.jpg

then use your card to finalise and tuck it down neatly like this

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1834.jpg

finish

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1835.jpg

Without the visors

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_0258.jpg

with visors

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n166/chsformal06/felixs%20cam/IMG_1836.jpg

The trick is to fold down and tuck in the tape neatly into the rubber section to prevent peeling off

To do the bottom straight chrome strips is the same must put the window down make it easier to tuck in the tape :) the rear doors is harder because you gonna need 2 tape to cover the curve bit :) other than that this is a budget mod looks good if done right :)

Cant you just sand it lightly and spray it matte black?

I done this to some other part of my car. It is good and cost efficiency. But just giving some advise from my experience.

with the tape, when the car was park under the sun for a period of time, say 2-3 month, the glue of the tape start get harden and it will tear off.
This is due to the high temperature, and low moisture of the air in Australia, the glue will actually get harden and when it happen, they dun really stick to the body of the car.
Besides, when you are at high speed on freeway, the air force tend to open up the glued section and causing tearing effect.

It just some advice from my previous experience. nothing against anyone and the process.

it is really good DIY.
