Pioneer CD/Radio Install on 2008 Civic -Antenna Help

I recently installed a Pioneer 2050 Unit to my car, I didn't use any of the cars wiring . I have it working OK but the FM radio is a bit weak and AM is useless so much static.
I bought a Scosche antenna adaptor, so I could plug into the cars aerial lead and then into the back of the Pioneer antenna imput. This adaptor has a Blue wire attatched to it and I'm not sure where it goes. I think you might have to connect it to the blue antenna wire on the back of the Pioneer harness to boost the Civic in-glass antenna.
I'm not sure on this any help would be appreciated

i take it you didnt hook up the blue antenna wire off the pioneer harness to the factory antenna booster? turn the radio on to fm and touch 12 volts to the wires you didnt use in the factory loom, once you find the right one your reception will improve 10 fold, solder the blue antenna wire to which ever one it is and off you go!

yea...just make sure its the antenna wire of the pioneer not signal trigger wire

doesnt really matter, its an in glass antenna, thats only really a problem with telescopic power antennas that go up and down, any switching 12v power source (accesories, remote etc..) will be fine

Thanks for the info, I'm still a bit confused though . I didn't use the factory loom harness. Do I use the blue wire off the antenna plug and connect that to the blue and white wire off the Pioneer (which is for power antenna). Or do I find a 12 volt wire source (eg the accessary power wire for radio)and connect it there. I take it that any 12 volt live power wire will boost the in glass antenna ?..The reception here in Tassie is pretty good around the city on FM but soon as I go out of this area the FM signal becomes weak.
