car is surging

hey i own a eg with jdm b16a. car has been fine til today. i went out it was fine but on way back it started to idle real funny. almost sounded like a rotor and was really jumpy. like it wouldnt drive properly I let it sit while I had a look then it started and was idling fine. so i drove off. further down the street at intersection, it idled fine then just switched off. wouldnt start again. turns over just wont start. pretty sure its not timing belt snapped. Also normally the fuel pump makes howling sound at first start. now its just constant. any body got any idea's on what it could be ?

Before reading the thread I going to say the fuel pump.

Might be rooted hence surging and not allowing fuel ?

hold the throttle down just a little and try and start it (keep the throttle on a little bit) if it starts take ur foot of throttle if it diesor idles really low and rough it might be ur iacv.
wouldnt explain the howling though...

previous owner told me that it has a 500 hp fuel pump. thats why it makes the houling sound.. and yes i know there's fuel in it. i put whole tank in yesterday.

its possible that the pump has shit it self.......

otherwise check map sensor.........
