View Full Version : DC2R suspension on EG
Hey guys,
I understand DC2R suspension can be fitted to an EG with minor mods, however does anyone have pics of how the car sits once installed ?
I searched without success.
Thanks.
It sits exactly the same as stock...
The only difference to fit a DC2R sussy is that you need to change the rear LCAs unless you have a genuine EG6.

thought it was like 10mm lower than stock?
at a guess it'd be like a 3 finger gap between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch

Mine sits about 3 fingers using ITR springs but lowered on the Koni's. So I assumed on stock dampers, it'll be the same.
Thanks guys.
So if i pickup some ITR springs and install it with koni yellows the car will sit a little lower again ?

yeah i am you should try it one day
90LAN: How your car sits is exactly what i want. Not too high, not too low.
I've read the DC2R springs are a good upgrade for an EG, but i want about a 1.8 - 2" drop all round. I'm thinking now maybe some DC2R eibach springs with koni yellows

ive also just done a dc2r 5 lug conversion with jdm dc2r shocks and springs although havent dropped the car off stands yet... i think from that picture it sits too high... ahh well cant do much now... although hopefuly the ride and handling should be significantly better........

well u will see plus 16's make car look higher
not like these people on here running gay small 15's with camber trying to make there cars look like street sweepers lol
I found in the "cars for sale" section other pics with 15" wheels. Looks much lower.

haha nah im going to get some dc2r wheels gunmetal ones... although those pics dont look too bad they actually look a little low and good... hopefully its the same... but wait are they stock springs and stock dc2r shocks,,, no aftermarket or different parts to make it that low?
yeah those pics of the black civ look perfect just like 90LAN's.
I PM'd the owner out of curiosity and he confirmed it being stock DC2R suspension so i can only assume it's stock springs & shocks.
I have a dumb question to ask.
If i buy DC2R Koni yellows for my EG and some ITR or aftermarket springs, do i still need to source some stock DC2R shocks, or are all the parts included with the Koni's?

so on 16" it will make the car look higher and on 15" looks lower?
your itr coilover is audm or jdm, 96 or 98 model 90LAN?

mine are 96/97 jdm itr stock springs with some sort of aftermarket shocks called
"El Sport" ... but shocks dont change the height do they? also anyone know if they are a good brand or anything about them?
koni yellows are shocks.
Thanks man.
I thought it was a silly question, but when I see the pics on the net I only ever see the shaft bit in the middle without the perch etc.
I was thinking that you had to disassemble the standard shock and just replace the centre bit.
All cleared up now :)

I'm also running Stock ITR suspension on EG on 15's. Looks identical to Lan's (obviously).
Bang for buck, and for a daily, it's good. I'm also running DC2R Rear LCA's/ASR Brace and 23mm JDM Rear Sway, and the handling is awesome.

Lan...omg
Please give us all some insight into running DC2R suspension on an EG, but with King Superlows. Ironically, as someone has said above I'm also running stock 4WD DC2R sussy on my EG and it looks identical to your first pics.
But for $150 bucks I was thinking of throwing on some king superlows.
Will it be a good combo? Will it scrape around corners? Or hit bump stops? Or make the car handle like shit?
Tthanks maaate

its a good package with super lows
it doesnt scrub if u have correct offset wheels
still very good for daily
and handles pretty good
I'm rolling on typical 15x7 +40 Rota's....
Would it be worthwhile upgrading the front sway bar on an EG to DC2R as well ?
Will it be a direct bolt on?
I know the rear required the LCA'S (which i've sourced)
Sorry for all the questions
Well at the moment I'm running rear sway, and full DC2R suspension and I prefer the way the EG handles without the front sway bar upgraded.
When I drive my mates DC2R, I find it understeers WAYYYY to easily. If you enter hard into a corner you just simply understeering through parts of it.
With my EG, I prefer it. In the corner the car is more on edge. The rear feels like it 'could' flick out, whether it will or not is a different point. I've yet to make mine and I've flung it hard around some corners. I don't want a DC2R front sway because I don't want the understeer that will come with it.
However, I am keen on installing front and rear strut 3 point bars (prob carbing or password:jdm). Compared to the DC2R, the EG chassis does feel a little loose. Whether or not the struts will fix this I don't know, honda-tech seem to think struts are a waste of money (except for bling).

yeah same here "DD2"... im going to put front sway bar on for now as i dont have rear... although it makes more understeer... man im sure it prevents understeer.. its a sway bar that better and stronger and bigger lol
It must be better some how?
