was browsing rycofilters.com.au and came across
http://www.rycofilters.com.au/catalogue/product/make/Honda/model/Accord%20Euro/part/RCA108P
Price is $49.95 from Repco.
Where is this filter located in the euro/accord?
cheers
Check out this thread - a few of us here order the aftermarket ones from the USA

cheers for the quick reply, based on the $AUD at the moment, repco might be a cheaper option.

Hey m8,
The filter is located behind the glovebox. You can remove the glovebox with the 2 screws at the base. The US aftermarket version is a TYC filter. Ryco will be the same quality. I change mine every 12 months. Cheers.

I check mine before.... after 2 years, its still very clean. Probably cause I use aircond all the time, seldom open the window, so less dust, pollen, etc

Was just over in here:
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104819
and was asking about making your own out of filter paper. Although, more to do with the Cabin Air filter (per this thread) than possibly an Engine Air Filter (the other thread)
But have since found no stock of these Cabin Air Filters in Perth from Repco or a couple of other parts shops, but did find one for $31.95 + post $4.20 regular & $7.70 express to Perth

Hopefully such links are allowed..??

lol ron, maybe cause you don't use the fresh air button much and have the vents closed....

No need to undo any screws in the euro, just unclip the support arm. Full instructions are provided in the manual.

I would recommend CairFil..
http://www.cairfil.com.au/cat_accord_euro_2354cc_4cyl_mpfi_40_series_year_06 03-on.cfm
for just $5 more, you can get a carbon activated one which can filter harmful gases and unwanted odours.
If you use recirculating air a lot, your filter will most likely be cleaner than one using outside air.

That's a good find - Personally I prefer fresh air circulation (unless it is a super-hot or super-cold day), but the missus hates that when we are driving together because of all the traffic fumes. I am sure she could live with me having teh fresh air open if there are no fumes with the activated carbon filter.

It doesn't remove 100% of harmful gases. So if it was just fart or diesel particulates, you're alright, but if you are sucking up carbon monoxide and oxides of nitrogen, I wouldn't put my faith on the carbon filter saving my life.

I'd mainly want it for removing diesel particulates. It's no fun being stuck behind a truck up a hill when they're spewing out all that crap.

Where I live, I leave it on recirculate most of the time. So damn polluted and smelly. The only time I have it on the fresh air setting is if I am driving in the country side where the only bad smell is roo poo.

It would only filter air from the outside, not gases originating from the driver seat :p

rofl roo poo and gases from yo ass......
hahah well for my case aaron i normally have it on fresh air until it smells like fumes then close vents open windows to circulate it out then close again and put fan on hahaha
damn also for you to smell roo poo means that the roos must shotgun your air vents.... :p

I was thinking more along the lines of being stuck behind one of our famously long Northern Territory road trains carrying live cattle for export. They are hard to overtake because of the extreme length of the things but then you really don't want to breathe the methane coming from the cattle for too long.
See image at: http://www.atant.asn.au/gallery/gallery%2022.html
I think the legal limit is 80 metres length in the NT.

dang.... that is long!! never encounter such road trains before, you will never able to overtake it without a overtaking lane.

Once upon a time, when we sensibly had no open road speed limits and the NT's road toll was much lower than it is now that we have 130km/h speed limits, it was possible to overtake a road train.

Just ordered mine today also.
I have had Carbon Activated Pollen Filters in my previous Golf GTI and Vectra CDXi. I was very suprised when Honda parts told me that they are only available in standard only.
So two thumbs up for finding the place that supplies Carbon Activated Pollen Filters!

I think amazon is cheaper. Grab the FRAM ones, they are carbonate and will remove some smell, like sulphurous stuff as well. About 20 post I think it was, was a thread on it not too long ago.

Hi Keith, sure I'd be interested in getting a filter from you. Did you say that you have some carbon activated filters? What would be the total cost if posting to Capalaba, Queensland.
