G'day...

I have a '78 EB3 civic 2 door into which I am planning fit an EL1600 and 5 speed from a '81 prelude. I have heard that this is a straight bolt-in job but have also heard I need to change cross members, cv's etc. I have yet to get the prelude but wanted to make sure it was fairly straight forward before going ahead. has anyone done this?? I also have extractors and weber carby to fit the 1200 - are these likely to be useful on the prelude motor?

cheers

Hey mate, we did it on my mums eb civ. it was a straight swap with nothing needed to be changed. The webber carby will be usefull but i dont think the headers will (others please correct me if i'm wrong).

Very good engine for this model, adds a bucket load more torque when coupled with a straight through exhaust and webber.

Hey mate, there is plenty of this info on the 1st gen civic website ( www.1stgencivic.com ) there arent too many of us from Australia but the US crowd is really helpful on there
