cvs from mekong spares cost 100 - 110 brand new (aftermarket with one year warranty)
and hannys charge 20 bucks a side to install them
lol sorry but its not that cheap :) ..unless u got oem...
but it is cheaper then alot of places

but im dumb and decided to go for the reco ones for 80 bucks a side with one year warranty... ive changed them twice already under warranty and im due to change them for a 3rd time before my warranty runs out on the 26th november...

moral of the story... dont buy reco..

EDIT: and one more thing... hannys supplier is mekong spares

GUYS! had to goto hanny's again 2dai! my frikkn left side CV was groaning and croaking.. loose wheel bearing.. leaking inner boot and needed to replace outer boot..!
i was on my way to work.. when i heard this loud groaning.. i got scared.. and decided to drive from mascot all the way to smithfield just to get it done..

i also asked rob if i could get the cv's from mekong spares n he would install it for $20 bucks..
he just looked at me and laughed?!?

also the guy with the tegra dc5r had full exhaust/cai/headers/lowered+coilovers/and i think he was just adding a few engine mounts and bushes for the cams? i think?
anyway.. i vaguely remembered him telling me he had his dc5r stock and got it serviced with rob and he kinda snuck in each mod..? lol

As for Robert he loves to be stired, just persist with asking about the mods and he will do somethings that are not to over the top.
Deffinately no turbos, thats cheating according to Rob........heheheh.

Tools eh...
When you spoke to Mark, you were actually quoted $400 for both sides installed.
That being for reconditioned / exchange drive shafts with both inner & outer joints being new...

The $300~$400 you were quoted was for a brand new CV from Honda
Obviously labour is additional to this @ $70 per hour.
In any case, how about you get your facts straight before you start squawking about someone trying to rip you off.
It would seem that you have in fact misinterpreted the information given to you…
Then gone on & made the wrong decision costing yourself $20 in the process...
Perhaps it is you who is the "Tool" eh...
That said, keep going to Hanny's... Please...

So i'm guessing that hanny's would get annoyed if i asked them to do a b16a conversion to my 92 breeze

luzinit
21-10-2004, 12:46 PM
haha got busted.. LOL. novo - they dont do conversions.. takes too much time n space, they rather do quick services n things i imagine ;p better $$:time ratio ya know?? ;)

mods.. hes not THAT strict on mods.. he just prefers oem and stock, dunno why everyone thinks that hes gonna chuck a shit when he sees a modded car ??

my mate said it was easy, then again my mate is always high.

Adrian:

I'm not trying to stir up an anti-advan campaign or anything..
i was ringing around.. the guy that spoke to me did tell me $400 a side..
i guess it was in my ignorance not to ask whether they were original or not..
u guys were the first i called.. and then i called hanny's...
i'm on a low budget at the moment, and so the cash factor got me hooked..
i apologise for the slandering..
anyway no hard feelings..

I'm going to miss Hanny's when I move to Albury-Wodonga at the end of the year :(

Robbie loves me... not only is my Civic 90% stock... but it's JDM stock and he knows I'm going to do a full restoration job on it.... what he doesn't know is that when the engine goes, it might get a few go-fast goodies inside it when I do the rebuild :D
