Learn to drive.

+1

"dumping the gears" so the dash shakes demonstrates very poor driving skills

change gears at higher revs...
the lower your rpm is when changing gears e.g. changing at 2500rpm, the average drop would be down to 1500rpm, (unless you can change and only drop 500rpm like me =D) the more pressure the car struggles to gain power hence the engine and dash shakes...

then again thats from my experience cos i too have an em1 with exedy HD clutch and spoon flywheel.

does the dash try and fly into your face when you shift at too low RPM?

surely honda did not fail at desiging the EM1 dashboard??

In my car's even with stiff mounts, Exedy heavy duty clutch, stiff suspension and when i drive off at low rpms, the dash/cluster does not look like its going to fly into my face.

just convert it to auto and it should be smooth as...

well you asked for suggestions and its a legit suggestion.

I've got a light flywheel, and 6 puk ceramic clutch and i can launch hard as and my dash doesn't jump around.

And i've had my dash out a few times.

Practice your launches and gear changes. it shouldn't jump around.

Only other thing i could suggest is that you're getting massive wheel hop and that is going straight into your cabin. Traction bars would fix that but it would only fix the wheel hop.

mate i know how to drive.. i can drive it smoothly.. i was just experimenting with the clutch, gave it from 1st to 2nd, the car chirped and the dash was shaking..

u guys cant even answer my question as i stated "is there anything i can do to the car to reduce this problem?"

Remember its a Family car not a drag car. so you will have to expect these things to happen with stock suspension/mounts/flywheel etc etc

solution: dont dump the clutch so aggressively.

it WONT make you go any faster, so DONT do it.

A few members who know how to drive relatively well in circuit conditions on this forum have told you the same thing, so it'd be in your best interest to take heed and pay some attention.

This is a public forum so opinions will be splurged as they see fit,
Its up to you to take this the right way... either ignore, reply constructively, or report it if it offends you.

The only thing that I can personally recommend is perhaps sliding some rubber inserts between the dash and the windscreen to try and absorb some of the vibrations.
Other than that, its really up to you to change your driving style.

i think maybe some screws is loose thats why it may shake.. does it shake when your driving normal?? if so then loose screws i believe if not... ....dunno

I heart the SSS

Chassis shaking does not = loose screws.

It means the tyres are struggling to gain traction, thus hopping about and making the chassis shake.

As above, be gentle with the clutch. it's as simple as that.

when u drive through un-even roads or bumpy roads, does the dash shakes and vibrates?

i'm with jason... i reckon you are getting wheel hop

I noticed when i went from my oem shocks to kings lows it wanted to wheel hop a bit on hard cornering, and it makes the dash vibrate like hell!

yea on bumps and potholes.. yea its running oem shocks on compressed lovell springs atm..

does your dashboard actually move while its vibrating?
if so it could be what MikeyG says, check all the screws on the dash and make sure they are for starters there, and if they are fastened securely... i dunno why they wouldn't be, but worth a check

this link will give you a good indication where the screws are located:

Ever considered axle tramp? I know the dc2r does this every time you give it a little and the dash does vibrate / shake quite bad.

get some aftermarket shocks designed to be used with lowered springs

your oem ones are probably totally rooted. that wouldnt be helping the situation at all

most likely a combo of shocks wearing & causing the dash to loosen.

Check dash is still properly bolted/tensioned & i'd recommend aftermarket shocks also.

p.S i also get rattle on hard dumps & when tramping its pretty normal

I did have an issue with my first shocks and lovell superlow springs that i got 6 years ago that when i would give it a little my wheels would hop and give the sensation that the dash was moving. After i replaced them i found that the shocks were completely stuffed and after talking to some guys on here i realized the Hard springs i got for for my stock shocks just completely rooted them. You could be having the same issue, You might wanna take it to a suspension specialist and get them to check over the susp

I'm putting bets on wheel hop too. Shocks are possibly buggered. You may not have encountered this before upgrading your clutch as it may have previously just slipped upon 'dumping'.

Is your issue like in this video (exaggerated)? ...from around 18seconds onwards.
