swapping front n rear springs?

hey im noob at this, can any one tell me if i could put front springs onto rear shocks? would it be dangerous, because my rear springs are way to short n everytime the wheels lift up eg. jacking up the car the springs come loose.
and i have heaps of spare front springs lying around so can anyone help me please?

You can sometimes make them fit but don't do it. The front springs are generally longer and much stiffer which will make the rear feel stiffer and sit higher, and being stiffer will wear your shocks faster.
If the front springs are longer than the rears when uncompressed then don't even bother.
