Which strut do people use for eks? I bought one but the brace on the right hand side can't fit because aircon pipe is there.

ek4's have a different mounting for the oem front struts. which doesnt sit directly on top ont he suspension tower. ek1's dont have it.

on my ek4 i use the itr front strut. was looking for ek9 but cbf.. doesnt really do too much so i didnt bother

I have an ek1. Bracket just cant fit under the pipe. Does not curve high enough to go over the pipe. It came off a crx so might only fit eg/f/d civics.

struts are universal for eg/ek/dc,
you have to undo the bolt holding the pipe and leave it undone to fit the strut.

I've tried moving the pipe to the side and forceing the bracket in. Even if I do force in on, the bracket sits too low to wrap over the pipe. Also I don't want to mess with the pipe incase I case a leak and will have no air-con. I'll posted some pics , see if anyone can think of a way around.

ive also run into that problem before buddy..
u can force the pipe between the lower bracket mount and the bit that the metal brace attaches to, but it still has some stress put on it.
i also didnt want to bend that pipe back, it puts some stress into the piping joint (goes into the chassis under the battery) and also eventually the vibrations will wear the wrapping/insulation off and itll become metal on metal.

ive come to three options:
find a modified bracket that avoids/minimises contact with the pipe.
goto aircon place & ask them to rebend the pipe/find a replacement pipe.
find the OEM strutbrace and drill the holes in the chassis & fit that instead.

went with the last one since i had a oem brace lying around.. hehehe good luck with it

just a thought, can you install it 'backwards'?
i.e. flip the bar around so the right bracket bolts to the left tower, left bracket bolts to the right tower
