(CL9)Hi people, just got myself a 2003standard euro...love the car as it's so smooth to drive.trying to get a set of 18 inch rims and lower the car a bit to make it a bit more aggresive looking......what's the best 18 inch rims profile and offset you guys recommend? Thanks for the tips.....

Congrats on your purchase mate.
18x7.5 or 8.0 with and offset between +38 to +55 and you should be right,
Tyre size 225/40/R18
Also check the weight rating of the tyres the euro needs a rating higher than 91.
If your going to get a bodykit or anything get it before lowering your car and lower your car using a springs and shocks combo or coilovers and not with just springs.

+38? i personally wouldn't go any lower than a +42 offset for the euro

Stock rim offset is +55 so personally i wouldn't go any lower offset than +45(that's an extra 10mm wider track per side)225/40s will be fine and you shouldn't need to roll your guards.

Do I still have to lower it if I use 18 inch with 225/40????

Why did you NEED to lower it? The overall diameter of the wheel+tyre is the same. However, with 18s it looks MUCH better lowered.

You dont need to lower it but it'll look better if you do.

I have a set of 18" x 8" rims on Euro, It is +40 offset and this is flash on the gurad. be caution that when you lowered, I prefer you have a set of rear camber kit as well. mine lowered 30mm with 3.5 deg camber in, that is too much and tyre rubbering inside. now with camber kit installed (Spoon) with 1.5 deg. problem fixed. I suggest you to have 18" x 7.5" with at least +40 offset. Thanks

id go for lightweight 17, 18,19,20 are too heavy, slows down your car.....:)
I have 19x8 +47 all round with 225/35/19 tyres. Pix (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2063453&postcount=1) for reference.

you can get away with 8" wide and a +38 offset. But you'll need to do a few things to make that work on a lowered CL9.
Run about -1.5 degrees camber up front and tuck the fender lining into the guard.
Or, run about -2 degrees camber up front.
Or,run stock camber and have your fender rolled (a lot).
If you don't plan on getting a front camber kit and want the car to be lowered 50mm or more an 8" wide wheel will need >+45 offset to avoid any rubbing issues. That's based on 225/45/r17 tyres. On 235's the clearance is reduced a bit more.

I have 18x7.5 with 225/40/18 tyres, lowered 50mm with +40 offset. works fine, doesnt rub on guards. have a bit of neg camber but you can adjust the toe so that it doesnt chew your tires.

how rough a ride do you like ?
you can do eibach/bilstein spring/shock combo.
or go coilovers but rougher ride, but better performance depending on which brand will defer the roughness.
most comfy would be tein SS or buddyclub N+

alternatively you can go spaztic and get airrunners, if you have the extra cash that is.

been covered before but depends on your budget, you can do springs + shocks, coilovers or airrunners.
airrunners is the only one recommended you dont need camber kit cause its adjustable and you wont be driving too low.

yeah i get you,
as i have said....
Different combos
1. Spring + Shock ($1k-2k)
2. Coilover ($1.5k-3k)
3. Airrunners ($4-5k)

the super diy super cheap option is to buy some king springs, put them with your oem shocks... then put it all back together. without being shot by the original springs when you undo the shocks for the first time. and getting your fattest friend to sit on the spring while you put it back together.
sure its cheap but -
eventually blow your shocks.
and you can't slam it.
but its sooo cheap haha
go with coilovers if you got the $

don't make me argue with you....
cheapest is to cut your springs.... to go superlow..... no offense typical lebo style on a pulsar sss <--- not an ideal way of lowering but still an option.

lol no argue, i said it was cheap but not the cheapest. i am not lebo.
another cheap way to drop your car is drive around four contestants from the biggest loser = 600-700kg = instant slam
...you may have won the n/a and spring battles but the war is not over...

Do I still need to get camber kits if I get coilovers?
Let's say i get 19 inch...will it rub if I lower ?

What is the different between Spring + Shock, and Coilover? Is the coilover combine with springs + shock? Sorry don't understand.
I think first you need to know how low you want? I have 18x8 +40 rims on with 25mm lowered, very bad on rear camber and cut inside tyres, sure you need to have camber kit for even just 1" lowering.
