Hi, just thought I would pop over from the UK prelude owners club (www.ludebehaviour.co.uk) and say hello. We have a few overseas guys on our forum so feel free to come in and say hi whenever you feel like it, would be good to get the lowdown on southern hemisphere Honda's and check out the different models etc and how you guys tweak and upgrade them.

Pics of my 5th gen Prelude attached. It is a 1998 2.2VTi VTEC Motegi, not sure what the equivalent is in Australia but that is pretty much the top spec here, apart from some JDM Type S imports.

Have been using this as my day to day car for the last year but now have a new one, but couldn't bare to part with the Lude so have kept it as a toy. Have got a few upgrades planned, Spitfire leads and coil, Denso iridium plugs, AEM V2 intake, SPAX lowering springs, Mintex grooved discs and pads, alloy refurb and 'rocker top' red coat amongst others. All the parts are on order but I just need the weather to do the work, and as it is the middle of winter I will probably have to wait until March at least, (I am on the Scottish Borders and it is zero degrees celsius at best in the day at present). Following all that I am going to go for the full stainless steel manifold with cat back exhaust and a VTEC controller and then get her on the track to see what she can do.

Hope to hear from some of you and perhaps see you over in the UK forum.

Cheers, Barny

Welcome. Funky interior you have there :).

I believe we would refer to your model as a vti-r (however there was also the ATTS which was the highest model and released in very little quantity) - some of the lude guys should be able to clarify.

Yeah which makes for bloody decent drivers..... over here.... at least in the state of Queensland, as soon as there are a couple drops of rain on the black stuff people start freaking out and spearing off into the scenery.

Nice to see some international spec hondas and to get a feel for how you guys play around with the VTEC etc, thanks for the welcome as well, its always a worry popping your head above the ramparts on an Australian website when your English. :):)

You get plenty of idiots around here unfortunately, usually boy racers in hot hatches who think their Lewis Hamilton. We get a stage of the UK rally about 5 miles from where I live as well, which always attracts reckless drivers who don't know the roads. Plenty of Power Rangers on ridiculously quick motorbikes as well through the summer months, had at least five deaths on the road out of our village last year alone.

Have had a few drift incidents in the ice as well, always a bit scary, but a buzz when you bring it back in.
