hi i got ek with k-swap with the eg crossmember and LCA's and i put buddy club p1 4 piston front calipers(come off an eg) with 300mm slotted rotors on and now wen i turn the rotor touches the LCA and is grinding away wen the car is on a hoist or the wheels are off the ground there is a 7mm gap between the rotor and the LCA but when its on the ground its barely 1mm i cant figure out which part is moving the LCA or the hub. any advice any1 could offer or any tests i could do to figure it out would b much appreciated thanks alot

If the rotors are touching the LCA. something is wrong. Don't drive it.
are the offsets on the rotor's correct to begin with?

im not 100% sure the are the correct offset but the rotors are traveling through the center of the calipers and it has all come off an eg civic and that didnt hav the problem

Jesus.. I've seen the threaded part of the lower ball joint get grinded down on the inside edge of a rotor on a honda... but the actual LCA making contact :S

I was not aware of Buddy Club making a big brake kit either...

Looks to me like your rotors sit too far inside.

Maybe you can try increasing Neg Camber... :-p

but that doesnt eplain y it goes from such a large gap to nothing

evil R34

The only way to really tell is to look at it when you're turning. Does it touch when you're at full lock while stationary?

The other guess I can venture without actually seeing it is that incorrect camber may be part of it, or as the suspension moves up and down, camber changes therefore hitting.
Maybe your LCA bushing is worn or the bolt is loose allowing the LCA to move? Happened to me once, the captive nut in the Front cross member to the LCA bolt broke off and the front LCA was just wobbling all over the place especially when cornering.

Check to see all your suspension bolts are tightened up.

Your best best is to try and simulate the movements while stationary and see what the components are doing.

its got 1.43 deg negative camber and it doesnt touch wen full lock stationary only wen moving

So just to clear up.....

You have an EK with EG X-member + EG LCAs?

And everything was hunky dory until you did the big brake upgrade on the front? Or was everything in place and working fine for a while then almost overnight this issue occured?

ek with eg x-member and LCAs was all fine with standard ek brakes then put big brake kit on then rubbing started and yes on the front

only rubs on turning past half rotation of steering wheel (standard steering wheel fitted) so standard lock also hav eg steering rack
