Hi guys

Looking to purchase a set of JC-Project racing nuts. Was wondering when changing lugs only, is it advised to jack up the car?

Much appreciated

Just change them one at a time and you won't have to jack the car up.

Yeah, as above. There is no need to jack the car up :)

Is that going to be an issue? They are EP3R rims fitted on a DC5R

Yes it is. OEM wheels have a ball seat, whereas the aftermarket nuts are tapered in design. You should not mix the two

there should be a squeal clip and when your pads are low it will scrape the disc

Are there any coloured lugs with locks that are ball seats? All the ones I know are tapered.

Can consider getting an adapter. its like a washer/spacer before tightening your nut...

Jacking it up is better because it'll seat up better. You don't want to risk it since it's the moving part which the car sits on.

Just dont be lazy because it's just called being careless.

Don't need to jack it up man. Just do one nut at a time. As Chi said... DO NOT use a 60degree tappered nut on a Ball seat wheel. Reason being is because it doesn't use the full surface area of the nut.

Does anyone know where to get ball type seat nuts that are open ended??? Anyone??

From Honda. The wheel nut for some old piece of junk CR-X or something is open ended and ball seat. The part number is: 90381-SV1-901. They are super expensive from local Honda dealers so it is probably best to order them from either the U.S. or Japan.

I have ordered some for a friend so hopefully when they turn up they are open ended and ball seat as described.

my ej8 has open ended ones. i think basically any honda with a honda alloy which has a hub cap covering the lug nut area.

my mates 92 accord also has open ended cos he has a hub cap. so go to wreckers and i'm sure u'll be able to find some on no time.
