Superlap winning 450RWHP S2000 Video

Not sure if you have seen this. I drove this car at the 2008 Superlap for the owner Elias.

We had to run pretty much on road tyre, R compounds were not allowed. We won the overall day by a huge amount.

It has around 450RWHP and we are going to give it another run at this years Superlap in March. It will hopefully have some more power, but more importantly we are allowed to use better tyres as we are going up to open class.

I just love driving this car. The car is currently getting a roll cage, and we have been looking at Paddle shifts and sequential setups for the gearbox as well.

Has just had a new manifold built and some other mods so it should have 500RWHP for Superlap :p

very very fast. On street tyres also. So can achieve faster times with R compound tyres.

The S2000 will be at the Australia Day Circuit Club event this coming Monday for a test and tune day at Wakefield. Hope it will do 1.05's

Had the car out at Oran South circuit for a shake down. The car was under tyred and the conditions were not the best but I still manged a 47.31.

We are in the process of looking for better tyres for SUPERLAP in 3 weeks :)

The best S2K in oz and your driving is just sick, I use to have S2K and it's pretty hard car to control, but this has like 3 times more power than stock, just unreal how you manage to keep it on track hehe

Just thought I would give you an update on the little Honda.

As you may have seen at Superlap, we were only on the track for a short time. We could only do one lap at a time as we went to the event with a blown head gasket and could not get it fixed in time.

We still managed to take 3rd outright in Open with a 1.16.1 in one lap lol

The engine is nearly completely rebuilt with a few more goodies. The car is also getting a wide body kit so that we can get bigger rubber under the guards.

The car shouls be much faster next time and I have no doubt it would get into the 1.14's around Oran GP.

Next Superlap is going to be at Eastern Creek in May 2010. We will have the car out testing in the early new year.

Shocks are currently getting dynoed, car is getting corner weighted, wide body is done, bigger rubber is on and the stroker engine is finished woohoo

Many more changes have been made to this car for the upcoming Superlap.

This car will be competing for outright honours in Open Class, which it finished 3rd in last year with a blown head gasket.

Now has different gearing, many changes to the tune and brakes.

Hopefully this car can hold the Honda flag high :)

Oh and this car will be in the same garage as FLICKS yellow EG Civic.

What kind of speed is it hitting down EC straight? 240km +? Strong field in open, Stuart Inwood in his R33GTR yesterday done 1.41's. Has this been faster then 41's yet?

Last week was the very first time I have driven the S2000 at Easten Creek.

I have not gone over the top speed data, I left all of that to Scott at Insight to have a look at. Seriously, the car was ugly last week. It has been at Insight since the test, and is now getting alot of changes so that we can be as competitive as possible.

You are right about fast cars. Not sure how the little S2000 is going to go against some of the already proven products. We will be lucky to get into the top 5 I think looking at some of the times that people are doing.

WOW what an event for the little S2000.

This years competition has improved in leaps and bounds. Two weeks prior to the event we tested the car for the first time and it was doing 43's and 44's around Eastern Creek.

We knew we had a task ahead of us, as there were a dozen cars in open class already doing those times.

We changed the diff ratio, took 150hp out of the engine at mid throttle, changed pads and a few other bits and pieces to try and find the seconds that were needed.

The car was getting faster and faster over the weekend of Superlap, and we were extremely pleased to do a 1.40.0...oh so close to a 39!

The time was good enough for;

3rd Outright Open Class
1st RWD Open

The next stage of development for this car is now the chassis. It still has the same suspension that was put in it as a road car more than 5 years ago. Hopefully this car will be well into the 39's or less very soon.

Great stuff Bozman :thumbsup: Elias' car was my other sentimental favourite. You guys were so close to a 1:39. I was with the red S2000 and we were grateful for your approach-ability and great advice. Hopefully we'll catch you and Elias again next year (and be able to record a hot lap of you in our car with the performance box!).

When I was at ASM in Japan, they knew about this car and Elias when I mentioned I was from Australia!

Cant wait to see more development in the suspension/chassis department, looks like he is still running CRUX coils.

Yeah, the shocks are now beyond there used by date, as the car how now overtaken the shocks.

The ASM Team have done an awesome job with there chassis, and hopefully we can replicate theres :D

Hi Crew

Thought I would give you an update.

The little S2000 is getting a birthday present for its assault on WTAC 2011.

This car is the only car to be on the podium for 3 years running.

1st Outright 2008 Clubsprint, 1st RWD

3rd Outright 2009 Open

3rd Outright 2010 Open, 1st RWD

The car is getting a brand new brake package, much better suspension and around another 100hp.

Hopefully the car will be well below the 40's on R compounds by the time WTAC 2011 comes around.
