def google a twin loop xforce muffler, and go 2" on your EJ8 as not bigger is needed unless you have some work done to the engine internally

on an EJ8 D16Y8 it will be very drony with anything bigger imo and you wont gain much til you do your swap, may as well wait it out til your new engine is in there?
once you do put what ever engine it is you want, there will be mods to the front of your system near the cat anyhow, I'd be waiting it out

would make more power, but alot of other things would come into the eqaution as well
tuning, parts used, who installed the parts, etc etc

hmmm, I don't have many mates who have done much NA engine work on a D16Y8, many have gone to turbo them tho and make comfortable power on a realistic budget tho

I'd just go with an intake on the D16Y8, maybe a nice HD clutch and a exhaust system (4-2-1 headers and a 2" system. Once you get off you're P's you'll want more power and that's where ethier a turbo or an engine swap will be your better option
focus on some nice suspension, tyres and wheels as well. Good time to get some nice seats, etc and have a nice rolling shell prior to engine swap
example, mine makes a mere 100hp atw with the above minus an aftermarket intake.

any more than 2.25" would be a waste, and not to mention very loud with resonance
the std brakes would do, just get some discs for the rear off of the ek4 or em1, it's mostly suspension and tyres you should be focusing on, they make the diff
I'm contempting seating for mine atm, new recaros are goin for 990 each for what I'm chasin
