Hi all,

I was just thinking about is it worth getting an injen CAI for my Civic, I was looking at the price it looks towards like 500-600. Does it make a significant difference in the sound or power?

Thanks!

In short: Sound yes, power no.

i know that the K&N CAI system has estimated horsepower gain of 5.71 HP @ 5750 RPM (loud, more expensive, may get the power in higher revs rather than in the low revs) whereas the K&N air filter has between 1-4HP extra (quieter and cheaper, doesnt void warranty, fuel efficient)

basically, you can pay 5-600 dollars for a CAI that gives you 5.8hp that you will hardly notice.

or you can buy an air conditioner that has about 5.8hp for that price and you can really feel the difference

I think they are a little over optimistic with those figures. Don't forget most ppl experience loss in low end power for slight possible gain in high end power with CAIs.

For the record my SRI has no effect that I can notice other than sound.

I just bought a K&N filter. Should gain a little but less work and won't void warrenty.
