hey guys
i was tucking a few of the wires in the engine bay. this time in relation to the problem all i did was relocate all the plugs from the passenger side shock tower under the battery mount. its a bit cramped under there but i secured all the wires properly. there was no cutting or extending. today i reconnected the battery and started to car to see if everything is alright. the engine light lit up and though the engine was idling at about 1600 rpm (cold start) it sounded very bogged down and weak. i removed the battery and took the wires out to inspect and they look fine.

i have a vafc installed but that seems to be fine. i also did a code check on the ecu and just got a constant Mil.

any info much appreciated

thanks

if you bridge the SCS and get a sold MIL on a stock ecu then your ECU is probably upset.

check you IGP lines going to the ECU. also check earth points, especially the one on the thermostat

hey ecu-man. i did what you said. checked the wiring and i even removed the coupling's around the looms of the wires i repositioned. i put everything back as it was previously and still the same result.

although this time i noticed when i turn the key over into ignition, as well as the small click and sound of the fuel pump turning on there seems to be another "tick" sound in the engine bay. i tried to narrow down where its coming from but cant. i think there may be a earth prob somewhere but am confused as i didnt touch another earth besides the battery and i tripple checked that

anything else i can do ?

Double check all the fuses under the dash and next to the battery, Im assuming all your vafc connections are soldered! if not solder them, when you disconnct the battery is there possibly a capacitor for your stereo still connected to the terminal (if u have a cap) because that wont let you reset the ecu since it stores a little bit of power, Make 100% sure that you didnt cut through any wires with a stanley knife or something as the insulation can still look alright untill u fold the wire on the cut it an be damaged. Sorry man thats all i can thing of.

Goodluck

just and update for anyone that may have a similar problem. turns out all the wiring was fine and there was nothing wrong with the tuck or vafc etc.

as i was in the middle of neatening things up i had disconnected the denso plug next to the fuel filter. i had an energy call amidst all this so i had to drop things and leave for the following day. the plug fell behind the intake manifold and i forgot all about it. ah well plugged it back in and no problems :)

thanks for the help guys
