Hey guys,
Just a quick question i'd like to ask.
today i swapped my thermostat, starter motor (reconditioned) and radiator (new).
refit everything, had a leak, fixed leak etc so everythings fine, started car, starter motor is fine, doesnt overheat.
the only thing is, on closer inspection of letting the car run, It seems there is steam/smoke coming from where the larger fan is. Quite hard to trace, but it seems as if its coming from the top edge of the radiator fan. Anyways, Im guessing it's a stuffed radiator cap, it was from my old radiator and it seems to not fit quite right on the new radiator (it turns and locks but doesnt really go back the full way so it isn't quite horizontal or square with the radiator).
Furthermore, I've tried to see if there is any coolant going through into the overflow tank and I can't really see any going in or coming out, so it sounds like the radiator cap is fkd.
Is there a better way of testing? I havent bled the coolant as well.
thanks guys. also, would u only ever use a honda radiator cap or something else?
it could be spilt coolant (i spilt a bit) or it could be water from washing off the coolant.
