grill flat black.I have finally took off the grill with the tips of "dyljoy" Cheers

bro. I have never spray painted on chrome b4 so I would just like to ask 4

some advice from u guys. Should I sand away the chrome b4 I primer it or

can I just primer it, after primering should I wet sand it and with what grain?

Also how many coats should I paint and any techniques when painting it?

I am using spray cans from maybe SuperCheap. When I am done should I wet

sand it? Also should I clear coats it with flat clear coats?

Thanks Guys

I'm assuming it's not real chrome as it's rare for a Honda grill to be made of metal. It's probably just chrome paint which means sanding would be optional as a good clean + primer would probably be enough to hold it on.

Sorry to bump an old thread. I'm in the process of doing mine now. I have used 320 grit sand paper and it is hard to het rid of the chrome. What have other people used to sand off the chrome?

You dont have to sand it off completely, just make it so its nice and smooth, go down in grades with sand paper. 4-5 coats of primer should do. Sand it again so its super smooth finishing off with p600. couple coats of paint and clear coat and your set. Dont buy cheap paint either
