hay guys im about to buy a 98 civic gli (1.6L) with a B18C2 (off 95 integra vtir 1.8L) engine in it from VIC.

Now i was just wounding whats the go with VIC, can they registered without a engineering cert? and do they allow the newer 98 car to have a older 95 engine in it?

and what do i do when i get the car into Queensland? how do i go about getting a mod plate or do i not even have to get a mod plate if i can get a RWC in easy way? As i know the QLD law says you cant part a older engine into a newer car, right?

i don't know its all little confusing if you ask me.

Please tell me :)
Thanks

trism

yes you can as long as its engineered and emissions meet the later model...

if not dont post shit that is not correct
as it will cost people money and time
if they do buy a car they cant register or have to change the engine

Victorian regulations on the Vicroads website state that the replacement engine MUST be of the same year or newer.

So this makes me wonder how this '98 civic can have the '95 engine in it and be registered.
Is it registered currently?

fcuk you 90LAN

he told it was not worth to do as it would cost to much to justify him buying the car from vic

so your a noob still because u have bot backed your claims
u dont know shit mate
so say what you want u still look like a dick
you dont live in qld so u dont know the laws

so what if they say u can get it dont doesnt mean the he will stillget it engineered
the example u provided was for a b16 a in a 1.6 lt car

this is another level with a b18c older model eng in a newer chasis
u think it would be easy to pass
u dont know shit mate
u read something and u think u know everything
go get some real life exprience u little keyboard fag

by the way we have tougher hooning laws in queensland
and the laws make it hard for u too get engineering on alot of things now

why dont u spend the 2k plus for him to get the car on the road and rego
so he doesnt have to pay for it if your it if u think it is so easy to do

oh thats right u still studying and sponging of your parents

plus he has to pay 16 k for a car that is from another state

u think he would want to spend any more money to get in on the rd

so if he listened to your bullshit advice that you read from a internet post and actually havent done it your self

you think he would be happy if he bought the car

so shut your little mouth
if u dont know shit
that will affect peoples money and stress

i didnt say it was easy. if i did please point me to it. all i said was that it was possible

oh thats right u still studying and sponging of your parents

actually, i dont study and i dont live with my parents. i work full time. as soon as i got out of school i got a full time job AND i moved out of home. i live with my pregnant fiancee. so dont preach to me about money

so maybe pay attention to the below quote from yourself

he never asked about any of that did he? he asked if it were possible, i gave the answer to him

so once again, pay attention to this part of your post

trism, don't resort to pettyness when lan's just pointing out the obvious.

and engineers cert that most people refer to is just a blue plate, people get them for small things all the time.

But when a FULL engineers report is done they will go over everysingle bolt on the car and will be VERY hard to get registered on the road. and at the end of the day it may depend on which engineer you go to, if they're having a good day or not etc.

Even though it IS able to be done, doesn't mean it is the most viable solution to the guys problem. and even if it is POSSIBLE chances are its not PROBABLE that this exact car will pass inspection. depends exactly whats been done to the car and how.

now don't get all e-warrior on me and start swearing at me just cause im talking to you.

soo much rage....soo much lol.

trism
22-01-2009, 09:20 PM
i wont rage at you, you dont have an attitude like lan did/does

an engineer shouldnt effect whether you can register it or not.

i think youre getting confused between a blue plate and a blue slip, where a blue slip is a road worthy inspection here they check everything and if it fails you cant register the car

when you get a car engineered they only check out what you want the mod plate for.

ie you go in there wanting a b18 conversion engineered they arent gonna check to make sure the seats rails are proper

90LAN
22-01-2009, 09:42 PM
this what he would have to do

the car will be no registered when it comes from melbourne
the car will have to get a road worthy
when he gets a road worthy the inspector will say u have a older engine in your car
he will then say its not the original capicity motor in the car
so on the rwc their is section that says any modications that need a mod plate
then he has to get a mod plate
then the mod plate guy will say hang on this car will have to go get inspected and engineered because its a older motor
then he has to do engineering test and fork out more money
if it doesnt pass for some reason
he will have to get a new motor and more money
if he passes he will have to pay for test and towing of car around
then he has to take to qld transport for a inspection
then he would need another rwc with a mod plate fitted
with all neccessary paper work
then if he has all paper work he has to pay for rego
to get it on the rd

thats a quick summary for you trism

you think he would want to go through this
if he had listened to u ?

just to get a car on the rd ?

trism

Once again, he didn't ask if it was easy. He simply asked if it were possible. The answer is yes

90LAN and trism keep the personal attacks out please. That said......if a statement is made that is a bit controversial it makes sense to back it up with some evidence (ie a link).

I shall leave the thread open for any further constructive replies.

as highlighted he actually asked how/what he has to do to get a mod plate

can you highlight where he asks if it's possible

also how do any of us know if it's possible to get a mod plate for that particular car
