JDM DC2R (1997) ECU - use with locally delivered car ?

Hi..

Just wondering if anyone has tried to use a JDM ECU from an Integra Type R (DC2 / 1997 model year) - on a locally delivered car ?
And if it is electronically and mechanically safe to do so ?

Im pretty sure you need a conversion harness, Obd2a-Obd2b .... or the other way around.

I have been in a stock jap spec DC2R and at the time - felt that it had abit more power in the higher revs.
Would you happen to know if there are any gains to be realised / or detrimental effects from running a jdm ecu in an audm car ?

you can run a JDM ECU in an AUDM car, you wont damage anything from using the JDM ECU, you only damage things by the way you drive it.

nope, different intake and vtir is OBDI where type R is OBDII

most probably as the JDM one would be tuned with a higher octane petrol than the AUDM thus squeezing a little more power. However using the JDM ecu and the fuel we get here could make your engine ping and then your engine will retard timing making it slower
