Trouble closing boot lid off EG hatchback

Hi i'm having trouble closing my boot lid (glass portion) all of a sudden. It doesn't seem to close completely when i press it down gently or slamming it down. The lid looks close but it's not cos i can still lift the lid up.

The impact is a spongy-like feel when i close it. Like a rubber stuck in between.

Has anyone experience this before or could advise what i should do to troubleshoot it? :confused: Thanks in advance....

i've got this problem to it will feel like its closed but its not.. i just check after every time i close it and it closes properly second time if it doesnt on the first time. i dont see a big problem but would be interested if there is a way to fix it.

check the locking mechanism or maybe try replacing the rubber seals along the edges.

check the actual opening latch isnt catching on the side carpet etc. it can catch slightly and not let the rear glass close entirely

The U shape clip on the actual casing of the wiper motor on the right side (when your looking at it) could be loose. Try see if you can jiggle it around, if so, then thats most probably the problem.

Unscrew the face of the casing for the wiper motor and just clip it off after you take out the 2 screws from under it, then straighten the U shape latch/hook and tighten it (It should be 2 screws or even 2 nuts if someone changed it around to stop it from moving around) then try closing it and it should close firmly with one push.
