hey guys im havin a bit of an issue, all gears are fine from 1st to 5th but when i select reverse it wont even try to go in, no crunch it wont even go that far??? its been like this for a few days now ive tried a few things? is it possible for just one gear to stuff up and leave the rest of the gearbox perfectly normal?

really inconvenient having to do the fred flinstone everytime i have to back out of the driveway:p

could sound a bit obvious, but have you tried puttin it into first, then going forward a bit, then tryin to put it into reverse? works for me when i have that problem

ye ive tried just about everything u can do in the driveway, i took to to my mechanic he reckons that its internal inside the box, got quoted 1350 for a 2nd hand teg box haha, but rather than do that he gonna open it up and tinker a bit cause its not like the whole box is gone 1st to 5th still drive like normal

my mate's teggy used to have the same problem but it would only happen when the car was pretty hot. When it cooled down you put it in reverse again. Have you tried recently?

i tend to have the same problem with my teggy 94 mod VtiR but it all works out fine if i put it in 1st and move up a little and then put it in reverse.

a little option for ya......try changin your gear box oil. might help. made a big difference in mine when i did it.

hope that helps

this is a very very common problem with both the tegs and civics of that era. you simply have to line the gears up by putting it in first let the clutch out a bit rolling forward a touch then put it into reverse. it will work everytime guaranteed!

moey, ye bro it wont even try to go in, like it will stop it. even wen the car is off, on clutch in or out no crunching or anything.

something similar happens to me too.. (short shifter) - wat i do is keep my hand trying to shift it into reverse.. at da same time..i slowly release my foot of da clutch, (dont release clutch fully OF COUrse) and at sum point it'll click into da gear.. have u tried dat? works for me everytime.. none of dat putting into 1st/4th den reverse.. hope it helps...

try bleed your clutch. i did this to mine on the weekend and the shifts are 7684% cleaner. clutch pedal feels better too.
