What is the best way to get battery acid off your car. Is it safe to use baking soda on your car's body? Will it affect the paint?

just plain old H2O water is the best to diluite it

re your paint just rinse it off and then check for burns if so just clean well and repolish

Carful to keep acid off clothes and skin if you do get it on you just rinse it off with lots of water

Acids have dried up on the firewall. Have tried engine degreaser and wd40 on the car but no luck yet.

Just like Kiwi said use boiling water if its in your engine bay but not on your paint work on the out side of the car tends to make a mess of the finish

The acid has eaten into the paint and changed it's color. Time for fresh paint.

I think it has dried up. Can't get it off with hot water. Do u guys think it will cause rust?

OK heres the best and safest way:
WEAR GLOVES AND GOGGLES AND COVER AS MUCH SKIN AS POSSIBLE! DONT INORE THIS!

Get HOT water (NOT boiling, but enough to be steaming)
Get a brillo pad
Pour hot water over disconnected terminal and scape off using brillo pad.
Pour water (hot or cold or waterver) over the remnants to wash the battery clean

Once youve washed it like this it should all be gone. If its on the firewall perhaps consider a can of touchup paint to spray on it to prevent rust?
