Hey if i were to buy an EG with an engine-swap... could it be legal?- for a p-plater?
Since the EG6 did have a b16 engine =D
I know im a p-plater, but i heard you rarely get done for engine swaps, especially if you dont draw attention to yourself and make it look relatively stock...

legal as long as displacement increase is less than 15% for NSW...
a B16a/B18b2/B18c2/B18c7 are all blue-slippable options

Ok cool, because i read somewhere that it is also legal to put a B16 in a EJ8 since the EM1 and the EK4 both had b16 engines...
from what ive read, some people said its not allowed for p platers, and some say it is..
best to call RTA and ask them or something..

yeah from my reading P platers are not allowed to drive modified cars.
The eg did not come out b16 in AU.
For blue slipping they look at capacity & power, and it will pass.
But for a P plater they look whether or not the car is modified

yup i have also "heard" that any modification is illegal for any p platers in NSW.
This includes a replacement engine even of the same capacity or year model (say b16a2 etc)

It's illegal. EG6 is not an aussie car so that excuse wont work. Do a search. It's been asked many a time.
