I got myself a blitz sonic power filter something is not right  :

See the red hose that’s from the filter to the engine does it matter if it is kinked or slightly blocked while driving???

What’s the worse that could happen, I will get it fixed so the hose doesn’t bend but still trying think how, any ideas let me know..

Thanks in Adv.

are you sure you got the kit for the right car as i dont think blitz would design something that far off

the red hose is called a breather hose... it allows fresh air to circulate around the engine block.... and out through the pcv... important to allow air flow. so ensure its not kinked..

*idea*...if you know the internal diameter of the red hose, go and get a plastic elbow with the outside diameter being very slightly larger than the ID of the hose...this will ensure a nice tight fit......should be ok then...you will just have to cut the hose at the kink, and fit the elbow inline...best easy fix for this IMO :)

just replace the hose, where the engine is with one of those little cute mini airfilter

ive seen these sorta small elbow/adaptors on stands in places like supercheap/autobarn, they are the same ones used to plumb up window washers under the bonnet.

should have th right size there. :)

they are like $2.00 i think.

Unless im mistaken - It is recirculating the oil vapours (not fresh air) into the intake ....which then burns of the oil in the combustion cycle. It is a polution control thing.

yeah..if i were u..i'd block the hole on the intake pipe...and either getta small oil filter breather, or an oil catch can which is better if u like thrashing ur car round corners alot.

yeah I wanna get a catch can soon, but for the time been i slapped a little brass elbow in im sure it will heat up but what the hey its only temp.

I will record the sound of the pod when its idle, it sounds like a dam vacum cleaner :p
